Triple Lindy wins sailor of the month award
The 10-person crew of the Triple Lindy, which includes five Nova Scotians, have earned Sail Canada’s sailor of the month award.
Triple Lindy competed in the Newport-Bermuda race, the Rolex Sydney Hobart, the Rolex Fastnet Race and last month’s Rolex Middle Sea Race, where they won the IRC 5 Class.
The five Nova Scotians — the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron’s Sean McDermott, Rory Macdonald, Rob Trainor and Patrick LaRoche and John Mackay of the Lunenburg Yacht Club — were also honoured by Sail Nova Scotia recently with the Hal Davies Trophy for offshore sailors of the year.
